Almon-Diblathaim
From BibleWiki
Meaning: house of two cakes of figs
Almon-Diblathaim was a city in Moab in which the Israelites temporarily stopped on their journey from Egypt (Num 33:46f ). It is also referred to as Beth-diblathaim in Jer 48:22, where Jeremiah denounced destruction upon it, and possibly Diblath in Ezek 6:14.
The meaning of the word Diblathaim is "a double cake of figs;" its application to a town may indicate the appearance of the place or neighbourhood. Condor suggests 'two discs' with reference to some altar-stone or dolmen (cf. Heth and Moab, p. 262).
