A papyrus found on the Island of Elephantine in southern Egypt, where there was a Jewish military colony with their own temple in the 5th century bce. The papyrus is sent from a Jewish secretary of Arsames, the satrap of Egypt, to the priests of the temple and instruct that the colony should keep the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
