Elisabeth

Meaning: God her oath
The mother of John the Baptist (Lk 1:5). She was a descendant of Aaron. She and her husband Zacharias "were both righteous before God" (Lk 1:5, Lk 1:13). Mary's visit to Elisabeth is described in Lk 1:39ff.
