Exodus Chapter 5, Verse 19

19: And the officers of the children of Israel did see that they
were in evil case, after it was said, Ye shall not minish
ought from your bricks of your daily task.
19: And the accountants of the children of Israel saw themselves in an evil light, [men] saying, Ye shall not fail to deliver the daily rate of the brick-making.
The Israelitish overlookers saw that they were in evil: בּרע as in Ps 106, i.e., in an evil condition.
