Galatians Chapter 1, Verse 23

23: μονον δε ακουοντες ησαν οτι ο διωκων ημας ποτε νυν ευαγγελιζεται την πιστιν ην ποτε επορθει
23: But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times
past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.
23: But they had heard only: He, who persecuted us in times past doth
now preach the faith which once he impugned.
But they had heard only, etc. They had not seen me; but the remarkable fact of my conversions had been reported to them. It was a fact that they could hardly be concealed. See "Acts 26:26".
