Heber the Kenite

(Jdg 4:11ff; Jdg 5:24), a descendant of Hobab. His wife Jael received Sisera into her tent and then killed him.
At the time of the war between Barak and Jabin, King of Hazor, Heber the Kenite separated himself from his family and pitched his tent in the plain of Zaanaim [A.V. "Zaanannim."] Jdg 4:11}). He was at peace with both contending parties (Jdg 4:17).
