33: απεκριθησαν αυτω οι ιουδαιοι λεγοντες περι καλου εργου ου λιθαζομεν σε αλλα περι βλασφημιας και οτι συ ανθρωπος ων ποιεις σεαυτον θεον
33: The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee
not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man,
makest thyself God.

Makest thyself God. See "Jn 5:18".
This shows how they understood what he had said.
Makest thyself. Dost claim to be God, or thy language implies this.
