50: But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!- edit KJV text
50: And I have a baptism wherewith I am to be baptized. And how am I straitened until it be accomplished?— edit Douay text

A baptism. See "Mt 20:22".

Am I straitened. How do I earnestly desire that it were passed! Since these sufferings must be endured, how anxious am I that the time should come! Such were the feelings of Jesus in view of his approaching dying hour.

  • {5} "straitened", or "pained"
