Luke Chapter 13, Verse 2

2: And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they
suffered such things?
2: And he answering, said to them: Think you that these Galileans
were sinners above all the men of Galilee, because they suffered such
things?
Suppose ye, &c. From this answer it would appear that they supposed that the fact that these Galileans had been slain in this manner proved that they were very great sinners.
Later, the blood of another Galilean, Jesus Christ, was shed under the direction of Pontius Pilate. Some supposed that these earlier Galilean sufferers were great sinners because of Pilate's condemnation. Others would suppose that Jesus Christ was a great sinner who suffered in the same way. Neither presumption was true.
O Lord, keep back thy servants from presumptuous sins. Let them not have dominion over us. (Psalm 19:13).
