From BibleWiki
32: ευφρανθηναι δε και χαρηναι εδει οτι ο αδελφος σου ουτος νεκρος ην και ανεζησεν και απολωλως ην και ευρεθη
32: It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this
thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is
found.
32: But it was fit that we should make merry and be glad: for this
thy brother was dead and is come to life again; he was lost, and is
found.
- {y} "meet"
The repentance of the prodigal son is representative of the believer when he comes to saving faith in Jesus Christ. Saving faith is no mere decision accompanied by salvation from God's wrath. Genuine saving faith is accompanied by repentance.
