Luke Chapter 18, Verse 31

31: παραλαβων δε τους δωδεκα ειπεν προς αυτους ιδου αναβαινομεν εις ιεροσολυμα και τελεσθησεται παντα τα γεγραμμενα δια των προφητων τω υιω του ανθρωπου
31: Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold,
we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the
prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.
31: Then Jesus took unto him the twelve and said to them: Behold, we
go up to Jerusalem; and all things shall be accomplished which were
written by the prophets concerning the Son of man.
By the prophets. Those who foretold the coming of the Messiah, and whose predictions are recorded in the Old Testament.
Son of man. The Messiah. They predicted that certain things would take place respecting the Messiah that was to come. See "Dan 9:25, also Dan 9:26f; See "Isa 53:1".
These things, Jesus said, would be accomplished in him, he being the Son of man, or the Messiah.
