Luke Chapter 2, Verse 16

16: και ηλθον σπευσαντες και ανευρον την τε μαριαμ και τον ιωσηφ και το βρεφος κειμενον εν τη φατνη
16: And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the
babe lying in a manger.
16: And they came with haste: and they found Mary and Joseph, and the
infant lying in the manger.
Unto Bethlehem. The city of David, where the angel had told them
they would find Jesus. These shepherds appear to have been pious men.
They were waiting for the coming of the Messiah. On the first intimation
that he had actually appeared they went with haste to find him.
