10: And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:- edit KJV text
10: And forthwith coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens open and the Spirit as a dove descending and remaining on him.— edit Douay text

And immediately when he came up out of the water, he saw the heavens being split and the Spirit as a dove coming down to him.

  • In contrast with Mk 1:8, here πνεῦμα appears with the article par excellence.

  • "opened" or, "cloven", or "rent"
