καὶ φωνὴ ἐγένετο ἐκ τῶν οὐρανῶν, Σὺ εἶ ὁ υἱός μου ὁ ἀγαπητός, ἐν σοὶ εὐδόκησα· [WHNU]

And there was a voice from the heavens, “You are my beloved son; I think well of you.”

  • Σὺis an emphatic pronoun.
  • εὐδόκησα is a dramatic aorist; it does not necessarily signify a finished event.
