Mark Chapter 1, Verse 27

27: και εθαμβηθησαν παντες ωστε συζητειν προς αυτους λεγοντας τι εστιν τουτο τις η διδαχη η καινη αυτη οτι κατ εξουσιαν και τοις πνευμασιν τοις ακαθαρτοις επιτασσει και υπακουουσιν αυτω
27: And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
27: And they were all amazed insomuch that they questioned among
themselves, saying: What thing is this? What is this new doctrine? For
with power he commandeth even the unclean spirits: and they obey him.
And they were all amazed, etc. The power of casting out devils was to them new. It was done by a word. He did it in his own name, and by his own authority. This proved that he was superior to all the unclean spirits. In consequence, his fame spread throughout all the country, and the impression became prevalent that he was the Messiah.
