3: The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.- edit KJV text
3: A voice of one crying in the desert: Prepare ye the way of the Lord; make straight his paths.— edit Douay text

A voice of one crying in the desert, ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight’.”

  • βοῶντος is a substantival participle.
  • Ἑτοιμάσατε is aorist imperative while ποιεῖτε is present imperative, but we must be careful not to overtranslate what is admittedly a subtle distinction.
