Mark Chapter 16, Verse 19
From BibleWiki
19: ο μεν ουν κυριος μετα το λαλησαι αυτοις ανεληφθη εις τον ουρανον και εκαθισεν εκ δεξιων του θεου
19: So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
19: And the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up
into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God.
He was received up into heaven. In a cloud from the Mount of Olives. See Acts 1:9.
The right hand of God. We are not to suppose that God has hands, or that Jesus sits in any particular direction from God. This phrase is taken from the manner of speaking among men, and means that he was exalted to honour and power in the heavens. It was esteemed the place of the highest honour to be seated at the right hand of a prince. So, to be seated at the right hand of God, means only that Jesus is exalted to the highest honor of the universe. Compare Eph 1:20ff.
