Mark Chapter 2, Verse 14

14: και παραγων ειδεν λευιν τον του αλφαιου καθημενον επι το τελωνιον και λεγει αυτω ακολουθει μοι και αναστας ηκολουθησεν αυτω
14: And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting
at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose
and followed him.
14: And when he was passing by, he saw Levi, the son of Alpheus,
sitting at the receipt of custom; and he saith to him: Follow me. And
rising up, he followed him.
Levi the son of Alpheus. The same, undoubtedly, as Matthew the writer of the Gospel. It was not uncommon among the Jews to have two names.
