18: και λεγει αυτοις ουτως και υμεις ασυνετοι εστε ου νοειτε οτι παν το εξωθεν εισπορευομενον εις τον ανθρωπον ου δυναται αυτον κοινωσαι— edit Textus Receptus
18: And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;- edit KJV text

Cannot defile him. Cannot render his soul polluted; cannot make him a sinner, so as to need this purifying as a religious observance.
