12: τοτε προσελθοντες οι μαθηται αυτου ειπον αυτω οιδας οτι οι φαρισαιοι ακουσαντες τον λογον εσκανδαλισθησαν
12: Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that
the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?
12: Then came his disciples, and said to him: Dost thou know that the
Pharisees, when they heard this word, were scandalized?
The Pharisees were offended. They were so zealous of their traditions that they could not endure that their absurdities should be exposed.
