Matthew Chapter 22, Verse 7
From BibleWiki
7: ακουσας δε ο βασιλευς ωργισθη και πεμψας τα στρατευματα αυτου απωλεσεν τους φονεις εκεινους και την πολιν αυτων ενεπρησεν
7: But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent
forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up
their city.
7: But when the king had heard of it, he was angry: and sending his
armies, he destroyed those murderers and burnt their city.
But when the king heard, etc. This doubtless refers to the Jews, and to Jerusalem. They were murderers, having slain the prophets; and God was about to send forth the armies of the Romans under his providential direction, and to burn up their city. See Barnes "Mt 24:1" and following.
Wroth. Angry; displeased.
